A product catalog for Facebook and Instagram
Choose the Facebook format to export the public Shopify catalog with Meta-style stock values and product condition. Facebook and Instagram use the same format here, so one export serves both catalog use cases.
Each item keeps the Shopify variant ID. Product links point to that variant, and products with multiple variants share a group ID. The exporter includes descriptions, images and vendor-as-brand when available. These come from the storefront rather than a private Shopify connection.
Choose the right condition
Facebook feeds default to New because Shopify’s public catalog does not provide a product-condition field. If all products in this feed are used or refurbished, select that condition before generation.
The selection applies to every exported item. A mixed catalog of new and second-hand goods needs product-specific condition mapping outside this tool.
| Form selection | Feed value |
|---|---|
| New | new |
| Used | used |
| Refurbished | refurbished |
Use your feed in a Meta catalog
The file is saved for 24 hours and refreshed on the next request after expiry. Use a fresh generation when you need to pick up a price or stock change sooner. This exporter creates the feed; account setup and advertising remain in Meta.
- Generate the Facebook XML and copy its feed URL.
- Use that direct XML URL in your Meta catalog’s data-feed import workflow. You can also download the XML for a file upload.
- Check the catalog’s import results, especially missing images, descriptions and identifiers. Confirm that product IDs match the IDs used by your tracking setup.
Frequently asked questions
Is this an Instagram social-media feed?
No. It exports a product catalog for commerce and advertising. It does not embed Instagram posts, photos or a social feed on your website.
Does it set up a Meta Pixel?
No. The tool does not install tracking or change pixel events. Its item IDs are Shopify variant IDs; check compatibility with your existing event IDs before using the catalog for retargeting.
Does it manage Facebook or Instagram checkout?
No. This is a storefront product-feed export. It does not synchronize orders or supply checkout-specific inventory and fulfillment data.
